An Atlas of the Cosmos

The Cosmos is Vast, and Unknowable in it's entierity. However, we do our best! The Cosmos is composed of a collection of universes in various levels of convergence with one another, with its center typically defined as The Mundus, the universe most comparable to our own. Surrounding this universe are other universes with distinct shapes and physical laws, typically called 'planes' or 'dimensions'.

The Mundus

Striking the presence of magic, the Mundus is much akin to our own universe- its laws of physics are our laws, it is an empty vacuum dotted by galaxies of trillions of stars. One such galaxy, the known galaxy, is called 'Ornos' Eye', named for the primordial god of the heavens, Ornos. The center of this spiraling galaxy is a massive White Hole, spewing a constant flow of high energy light and hydrogen and helium, fueling the creation of a dense galactic heart thronged by millions of stars. Two primary ejection streams (somewhat similar to a pulsar) form the two primary arms of the galaxy. Ornos' Eye is navigated via the system of 'galactic direction', analogized to the cardinal directions of a planetary map. But rather than magnetic poles, the directions are based off of the path and arc of the two primary ejection streams, and thus, the two major arms of the galaxy, 'north' and 'south', each having smaller branches or spurs connected. The galaxy is then further divided into three 'bands' defined by their distance from the center of the galaxy.

Galactic North

Long and reaching, the northern arm is home to many prominent known worlds- the Diadem, Miðarné, and others. It is home to the Helion Spur, and the far reaches of the fallen Star Empire of Mankind.
